Quote of the day. Vice-president Joe Biden knows his history.

This came from Human Events as another way to insult liberals in their latest book: 365 Ways to Drive a Liberal Crazy. Visit them on Facebook.  Actually, according to the book endorsement here in the left margin, The Liberal Mind by Lyle H. Rossiter, Jr. M.D., they already are crazy.
Praise Joe Biden, historian, by quoting him: "When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here's what happened.'" The stock market crashed in 1929. FDR was elected in 1932. And televisions were still in the laboratory.
And just to add a factual note, in case you may have some doubts, Wikipedia has this piece of history about television: "Although television became more familiar in the United States with the general public at the 1939 World's Fair, the outbreak of World War II prevented it from being manufactured on a large scale until after the end of the war. True regular commercial network television programming did not begin in the U.S. until 1948. During that year, legendary conductor Arturo Toscanini made his first of ten TV appearances conducting the NBC Symphony Orchestra, and Texaco Star Theater, starring comedian Milton Berle, became television's first gigantic hit show."
